1 roll of wallpaper normal covers 3 lenths of a wall, that’s floor to ceiling 60 inches or 153 cm across.
A useful little aid to help you arrive at the right number of rolls for wallpapering, is the interactive‘How Much Do I Need’ calculation tool..
The two choices are oil based or water based paints.
Oil Based, pros. 1. Much better quality finish. 2. Much strong to wear & tear. 3. Easier to wipe over. cons. 1. Smell is stronger. 2. White paints dis colour over the years. Rooms with low natural light levels will discolour quicker.
Water based, pros. 1. White paint stays white even in dark rooms. 2. Smell in very low odor. cons. 2. Some brands and finishes can be low quality finish. More difficult to achieve ultra flat application in direct sunlight or in high temperatures.
Our recommendations are water based emulsions for walls & ceilings. Oil Based for wood work. Furniture is ok with water based paints if spraying.
Depending on the application we use different brands of paint for different areas and preferred finishes. We have grown to prefer the following brands.
Dulux Trade, Little Green, Sandtex, Zinsser, Albany.
Adding features to walls is sometimes a more difficult task. If a room is long and narrow adding a feature on the small end wall will help the room feel more square. Adding on the long wall will only make the room feel even narrow.
